Founded in Kampala in 2020, Tech for Community was born out of a simple observation: the digital divide in Uganda was holding back brilliant minds from achieving their full potential.
We started by refurbishing donated laptops and teaching basic computer skills in local community halls. Today, we've grown into a full-service social enterprise providing high-end hardware and custom software solutions for NGOs and communities.
We believe in a holistic approach: Access + Skills + Support = Opportunity. That means we don't just supply the hardware; we provide the training and custom software products—from CRMs to AI chatbots—that allow organizations to thrive in the digital economy.

The Impact Timeline
The Beginning
Founded in Kampala, starting with a small team refurbishing 50 donated laptops for local primary schools during the global shift to remote learning.
Mobile Lab Launch
Launched Uganda's first fully-equipped 'Mobile Tech Lab'—a modified van bringing internet access and 20 laptops to deep rural areas.
AI Literacy Initiative
Expanded our curriculum beyond basic computer skills to include prompt engineering and practical AI applications for small business owners.
Software for Good Studio
Opened our dedicated web design and software arm, creating custom, secure platforms for over 50 NGOs operating across East Africa.
